August 27, 2008 Democratic National Convention made history in more ways than one. Sen. Clinton had a roll call vote on the floor of the convention. It meant each state had a chance to voice its support for the candidate of its choice. Each state more or less supported the front runner barack Obama.
However, some states yielded to Illinois or New York in deference of the moment. So, when the state of New York had a chance to cast its vote, Sen. Clinton came out with all the NY delegates, & Gov. David Paterson to call for the suspension of the roll call. With the roll call effectively ended, and all the delegates counted, Obama wins the nomination by ACCLAMATION!
