Is Silence Golden?

In AWARENESS OF SELF, ELECTION 08, SCIENCE OF POLITICS, THE PEOPLE'S NEWS, WORD ON THE STREET on October 26, 2008 at UTC.45.31.

With all the attention everyone is paying this election cycle let’s take the opportunity to ponder those voters who choose not to vote at all. Are they bitter or discontent? Perhaps jaded with the political process. MAybe the state of the current finacial landscape has them to cynical to take part in an American pasttime.

No matter what the reason and they vary as hair texture, smile, age and nationality. Some people have elected NOT to participate in the electoral process. I say those individuals are making a bold statement. By opting not to participate they are in fact participating, just passively. Apathy is huge in this world today, none moreso apparent then during the election cycle.

What does such antipathy create? In what ways do we all collectively adjoin this custom of ambivalence? Why is it so acceptable to be non-involved in politics? Should there any consequence for acquiescence? Is silence truly golden?

Many attribute their ambuvalence to the 2000 election and the debacle of the Florida electoral college? Moreover, the numerous legislators and Congresspersons who sat idly by as the Republican machine rolled, I mean stole onto victory.

Disenfranchisement can transmit itself like radio waves over generations. Likewise, revolution can beam itself current in an instance. This is the conundrum we find ourselves challenged with today.

Its real in the field!
