Proponents on each side can’t seem to agree on the political future of the island that is comprised of mostly a non-white majority. Although, the island’s power elite whom head government posts are mostly “white”, much like other ‘Latino’ countries, and are educated in the lily white schools of North America. Moreover, their perspective isn’t in line with majority of Puerto Rican subjects.

Their strategic planning accounts for the perpetuation of a racial politics designed with the intent of mainaining the status quo 2nd class citizenship for Puerto Ricans. The leadership preaches racial democracy, yet there isn’t racial equality with the distribution of resources.

Much like other ‘subjects’ of American protectorates: Guam, Virgin Islands & Washington D.C. they have “taxation without representation.” Some have pointed to the fact that if these territories were to achieve equal representation under the law then there would be a tremendous shift of the balance of power in the District of Columbia.

In fact, Puerto Rico & The Virgin Islands would each have 2 Senatorial candidates along with 6-7 congressional members. That alone would send ripples of “shock & awe” throughout D.C. as congressional districts would need to be re-drawn once again to try & balance the power equitably as seen fit by “Washington insiders” & “old guard.”

In closing, Puerto Rican sovereignty is united with D.C. statehood, yet coupled along with other territories under American domination that seek equal representation. Lest we be fooled all of these “districts” have one abiding common ground in force, and that is they are predominantly populated with descendants of Africans and indigenous people native to the geographical location they find themselves immersed in….

Its time to apply teh full rights of independence, sovereignty, and equality to all those underdeveloped, underserved and unrequitted in the face of modernity, hegemony & imperialism….

  1. How can you people still think in sense of race? White, non-white, hispanic, black, indian (native american), indian (south asia), oriental, arab, jew and the list goes on. Why can you not think in terms of individual liberties. Your thinking is scewed and that is 99.9% of the problem here. I am “White” (native american and french) and I married a Japanese women, I didn’t do this becuase it helped race relations, I did it because I loved her. My children are half what? Half white, half oriental? Give me a break, my children are HUMAN BEINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sooner you start to think outside of the box that “Group Mentality” puts around you, the sooner you will see that its not the race, color of skin, religion or political beliefs the defines a human being, its character. What do you stand for, togetherness or seperation? I leave you with that thought in the hopes you use your brain.

  2. […] here: PUERTO RICO: STATEHOOD OR COMMONWEALTH? black, children, culture, diaspora-talk, japanese, much-like-other, news, north, puerto, […]

  3. In response to the first quote…the reason that people still think in terms of race is because believe it or not…the majjority of society thinks in RACE! Have you ever applied for a job and not been asked for your race? It’s much eaiser for someone of European (White) Descent to say oh race does not matter…WE are indeed all people, however when you are black, hispanic or even asian….ignorant people, and just society in general will never let you forget that! I love being Black! I am a black woman, my man is a black man and we are expecting a Black child! now someone reading this can say why does she keep saying black and feel disturbed but that is because of their own personal negative conotations that they are putting in association to the word Black! WE don’t need to forget race, instead we need to embrace it with love!

  4. First off, who & what are you referring to when you say “you people.” I take exception to that. You claim to believe in humanity, yet instead of acknowledging my right to have & voice an opinion different from yours, you blow me off w/ you people. Check your self cuz that is offensive to most people who may or may not share you cultural background!
Normally, when someone from a different background says this they seem to think they are not a part of the “people” as if their an exception.

Let me school you, first off humanity was birthed in Africa, and our civilization never EVER had categories of different ethnic groups w/ a negative or stratified point of view. However, this phenomenom is a European invention. They created Race. Please George Hegel! So, I agree with your assessment w/ race & the issues with it, but you’re barking up the wrong tree. You need to realize that the victims of Racism (i.e People of color) can not & will never be responsible for voicing their DISSENT against race.

Even, if we say the word white or Black , or Asian that’s not racism. Racism is a system of power, the power to deny someone their rights & pass it into law. The power to discriminate against a person who wants to live in a certain community, go to a certain country club to play golf or get a loan to a bank. These things are racist and are rooted in White Supremacy!

I think you should follow your own advice & think outside the box! Your argument isn’t new, rather outdated & reeeking w/ racist narrow minded views. Knowing people of a different race or having an Asian girlfriend doesn’t give you a pass or make you special even. Although, I applaud your willingness to break down barriers by engaging in a multi-cultural union, you’d be better served to try and alter the views of people from your own ethnic group who don’t seem to think that vestiges of Racism & White Supremacy still run prevasive & predominant in all of American society from top to bottom!!

Thanks for your comment. I see you as my brother no matter your color! I love you despite our difference of opinion. I pray for you no matter your religion! Let’s make our world better by Speaking truth to Power.

Lastly, please break the mold or box & read an older post I have called: “White people Challenging Racism & White Supremacy!” Have you ever heard of “white privelege?” or “transparency?” If not, please do some research & holla back when you’re informed & armed with an open mind!! Peace family….

You are right I think you have said it very well…

Puerto Ricans, who desire to be free, must always know that the federal government, here in the States has no “subject matter jurisdiction” over the person, case or location and should be challenged to proof it.

You won’t be told this in court but: All jury members, judges, attorneys, and employees working in federal court, must reside in federal territory to legally be a federal juror or touch your case or they can be commercially sued, disbarred and financially ruined for violating your constitutional rights etc.

Your god given right to be free is not wanted by the USA, it will oppose your desire for independence and freedom.

The USA has been the biggest alien invaders the world has ever known. In order to win your freedom you must oppose them by knowing that their weakness lies in their violations to the Constitution and to the common law and common law remedies.

The Federal Government owns Puerto Rico, because it is a slave colony—whether you like the idea or not. But the Federal Government takes orders from those who own and run this Country, but are not of this country. The International Bankers, who really own the USA, will let PR be free, only if enough real men of Boricua blood wish to be free.

The answer to your freedom lies in your Constitutional rights — To win –You must always reserve your constitutional, commercial rights and know what they are.

The majority of Americans have no idea that the USA has killed more Latinos, than Hitler Killed Jews, The USA has supported Traitors, Dictators, Gringitos, Butchers, Sociopaths, and Megalomaniacs who were supported and kept in power by these monsters, sucking up to the Anglo Alien Invaders.

Latin America has had enough of this form of genocide of Latinos. That includes other African, Asian etc. countries that lost millions of innocent people from USA aggression.

I want to vomit every time some ignorant fools says: “If you don’t like it here –go home”.

If the Alien Invaders would get out of each and every Latin Country and stop interfering in our affairs—it would make sense to say such a stupid thing. But unless the Snakes get out of Latin America-we have just as much right to be here!!! So, grin and put up with it—this was once our land.

A Puerto Rican without a desire for independence and/or freedom from alien control has no soul of a man.

The fact that the public does not know that we are NOT free, makes no difference, to the desire to be free. The PR that wants Statehood is a Gringito, who has no soul of a man left in his traitor’s heart. Freedom is happening all over the world and yet we allow Gringitos to kill our right to be free.

A Gringito is a non-Anglo thing/person who internally is so inferior, that he desires to be what he can not be—thus Gringito means little gringo.

The Gringito is like an Uncle Tom to blacks or a collaborator and traitor to many others.

We allow the Alien Invaders to kill, harm, abuse, rape, and scam us and yet the Gringito wants to give our Country away.

This abuse must end. No man or woman is a real Man or real woman who is too scared to fight for their souls and be free. If you listen to the Gringito, you will lose your soul.

Thru out eternity Humanity owes its freedom from slavery, ONLY to brave souls who fought for your right to be free.

The fight will NOT succeed if you don’t fight the Gringito enemy at home first. He is there next door and claims he is a real man and tries to give you many excuses of why PR can’t be a free Country.

The fight for the independence of Puerto Rico is now non-violent and will be won in the hearts of real men around the World.

    The Ronbothunter,

A proud freedom loving Puerto Rican.
