SEAN LIVINGSTON, NBA FREE AGENT, WORTH A LOOK?

In NBA, SPORTS on August 23, 2008 at UTC.01.31.

I really like shaun’s game, I hope Pfund & Riley take a long hard look at this guy. He would give the Heat length & floor vision on the offensive end. If he’s fuuly recovered he would add much needed athleticism to the PG position. The Heat need a guard who can break down defenses & either score or pass the rock. Sean seems a perfect fit from that vantage point.

i’m not buyig all this talk about him being a great backup. He played behind Sam Cassell a couple of years, but while Sam was there he was clearly the best guard on the team. His development illicited  Cassell’s release from the team. This guy is a real talent & coupled with his youth, he can easily grow with a young established team for the next 10 years.

If Glover can help Wade get back to elite form, you gotta give this guy a chance. Its a win-win you know he’s motivated. He’s young, talented & would be a gr8 fit in our new system. Reports claim he’s been rehabbing from his knee for the last 18 months. The fact that he’s with Glover eases my mind because that guy has made D Wade’s return to Super Star form complete. Wade has explosion, hops, confidence, lateral movement and more strength. Now, if Sean can duplicate that kind of recovery the Heat would be foolish to pass him up. The South Florida Heat has a way of reviving careers. Hey Riley bring this guy in ASAP. He’s the answer!!!

6'7" Livingston handles & can dish Da rock!

“He’s here five to six days a week, working out,” Grover said via telephone Friday morning. “I won’t go into any detail regarding what he’s doing but I’ll say this, by the first day of training camp he’ll be ready.”

I hope so, and in a Miami Heat uniform. Its an upgrade for both involved. Sean needs a fresh start and trust me Miami is the freshest start there is in the NBA. With Livingston on board, fully recovered the Heat are ready to ‘redeem’ themselves from last seasons debacle….

“In addition to the strength-training program that Grover has him on, Livingston is getting his fill of basketball, playing in high-level games with approximately 20-25 other NBA players, including former Clipper swingmen Corey Maggette and Quentin Richardson.”

I’d like to get an idea for his rehab from the other NBA players, especially Maggette who played with him L.A. He’s the best guy to give an honest opinion to his progress, since he knows the healthy Sean & the Sean he’s playing against today. Are his legs & thighs stronger? Are the muscles around the knee stronger?

What is Sean’s mentalilty on the court? Does he look apprehensive or like his old self? My question for Glover, has he made enough progress to lead you to believe he’s on the road to full recovery. Perhaps, he already has because he’s playing full contact. Does he have explosion in his legs? Can he move laterally with no inhibition? There are a lot of questions surrounding him comiing forward from that horrific injury.

“The next order of business is for Livingston to find a team. He became an unrestricted free agent last month, when the Clippers renounced their rights to him. Prior to that, the Clippers declined to extend Livingston a qualifying offer of at least $5.8 million.”

JUST A REGULAR JOE: BIDEN IS VP CHOICE

In ELECTION 08, HOT BUTTON TOPIC, MEDIA, Politics on August 23, 2008 at UTC.13.31.
Obama & Biden team up

Obama & Biden team up

When it comes to Obama’s choice of Veep, he made a strategic selection. Obama is the Junior Senator from Illinois, however Biden is a Senior level Senator that has chaired some of the most powerful Senate committees in Washington. Biden now chairs the Foreign Relations committee.

Biden was the youngest Senator ever elected to office, he’s served more than 35 years in the Senate. In fact, he is in his 6th term of service to the U.S. Senate. Biden, previously chaired the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee.

What I like most about Biden is his “matter-of-fact” style and manner of speaking. You always get the sense he’s being blunt & direct with you. Moreover, he’s a tough guy whose not afraid to mix it up Washington style. He seems to be the right guy to take on the Republican attack machine, and clap back with an array of facts.

Biden, in May had a humorous sound byte about Bush breaking an age old foreign policy principle: “foreign policy stops at the water’s edge.” That means we as Americans don’t speak publicly about foreign policy when we are overseas. Well, when “G-Dub” went to celebrate Israel’s 60th anniversary, and proceeded to attack Obama, it was Biden who jumped into the fray to defend his Jr. colleague.

“This is bulls**t. This is malarkey,” said Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset … and make this kind of ridiculous statement.”

On the other hand, Biden has had his share of critical acclaim with his mouth in the primaries. Recall what he said earlier; “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”

Tell uis you really think Joe? Biden, is one of the few people that can speak aboout Obama in those terms, and it not seem like an underhanded slight. Biden is one the few people in D.C. that engender trust. I don’t really know what Biden meant, or from what vantage point he was speaking from. I’ll let Joe defend his own statements that are sure to be dredged up in this soon to be heated general election!

“What I was attempting to be — but not very artfully — was complimentary,” Biden told Jon Stewart. “This is an incredible guy, c’mon! He’s a phenomenon.”

There are only 4 Senators more Senior than Biden, but 44 that are older than them. Wow! In my opinion, Biden was the choice because he offers Senior level clearance which means that he can get doors opened literally. He can bypass bureacracy with experience & know how! He’s very well respected in the Senate, and known for reaching across the aisle and working with conservatives an liberals alike.

Now, with Joe on the team as an Independent voter he makes this ticket more appealing. Let’s get ready to rumble, and wait to see who McCain selects for his VP.

RUSSIAN & GEORGIA CONFLICT, CAUSE?

In HOT BUTTON TOPIC, INTERNATIONAL NEWS, Politics on August 23, 2008 at UTC.37.31.

The latest Cold War installment ha left many questions unanswered. Why would Russia risk isolation, and U.N. retaliation for a former U.S.S.R. teritory? With this invasion of Georgia, are we ebbing closer to nuclear war?

Russia/Georgia Border

Russia/Georgia Border

Surely, there is more to this story that meet the eye. The dramatic irony of it all is laced with the fact, Vladimir Putin was at the opening ceremonies in Beijing. Seated within proximity to President Bush, the Heads of State exchanged pleasantries, while this Russain invasion was underway.

I find it hard to believe that with all the technological advances & intelligence we have in this country no one saw this coming. Unbelievable, or has Washington just employed their normal method of operation: the smoke screen? Where are the voices of dissent?

Is it possible that Georgia provoked their neighbors? Is it possible that Georgia actually launched an attack on Russia first? I would say anything is possible these days. I’ve recieved reports to corroborate this:

“On Aug. 8, the Georgian government initiated a sudden bombing and artillery attack on South Ossetia’s capital city Tskhinvali. The Georgian military hoped to reclaim the small region of 1,505 square miles, which has tried to exercise its proclaimed independence since 1990. Georgian forces bombed and fired missiles against South Ossetia’s civilian population, but were quickly driven out by Russian troops.”

Can you put trust in print media? Perhaps, if you cross reference all your facts, and engage in intense research maybe. Well, this blog is the first step in that direction. Inquiring minds want to know!!
